Form Lab
Rental Property Application
Practice filling out a realistic rental application with your screen reader. Choose a clean version to build speed and comfort, or a version with real accessibility problems built in on purpose, the same kind you may run into with real forms one day.
What to expect
This form has seven sections: your information, your current residence, your employment, your household, an emergency contact, move-in details and documents, and a final agreement you sign by typing your name.
Choose Accessible below to practice on a clean, correctly built copy of the form. Choose Not Accessible to practice on a copy with real problems in it on purpose: some fields missing labels, some groups not announced as groups, and at least one heading that only looks like a heading. In that mode you'll still submit from the Not Accessible tab, but the Accessible tab is one keystroke away any time you want to check how a field should have been built.
Some fields have a short "Why they ask" note under them that explains what the landlord is looking for. Your screen reader reads it when you reach the field.
Nothing on this page is a dead end, and nothing you type is saved or sent anywhere on its own. At the end, you can choose to copy a practice summary or email it to your teacher.
Choose your screen reader before you begin.
If you fill this in, it will be ready to go when you choose to email your results at the end.
